Ipamorelin

Ipamorelin Acetate

Also known as: IPA, NNC 26-0161

Overview

A highly selective growth hormone releasing peptide (GHRP) that stimulates GH release through the ghrelin receptor without significantly affecting cortisol, prolactin, or appetite. Considered one of the cleanest GH secretagogues available.

Half-Life
~2 hours
Typical Dose
100–300 mcg
Frequency
2-3 times daily
Cycle Length
8-16 weeks

Administration

Subcutaneous

Benefits

  • Clean GH release with minimal side effects
  • Does not significantly increase cortisol or prolactin
  • Improved sleep architecture and deep sleep
  • Enhanced recovery from exercise and injury
  • Gradual improvement in body composition
  • Minimal impact on appetite

Side Effects

  • Mild headache
  • Transient lightheadedness post-injection
  • Possible water retention at higher doses

Mechanism of Action

  • Selectively activates the GHS-R1a (ghrelin) receptor on pituitary somatotrophs
  • Triggers intracellular calcium signaling to promote GH vesicle exocytosis
  • Does not activate pathways associated with cortisol or prolactin release

Contraindications

  • Active malignancy
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Known hypersensitivity to the compound

Storage & Reconstitution

Store at 2–8°C (36–46°F) for up to 3 months. For long-term storage, keep at -20°C (-4°F). Once reconstituted, refrigerate and use within 28 days.

Research Summary

Ipamorelin has been studied in multiple clinical trials including post-operative ileus and growth hormone deficiency models. Research consistently demonstrates dose-dependent GH release with a favorable selectivity profile, showing no clinically significant increases in ACTH, cortisol, or prolactin at therapeutic doses. It is widely regarded as the most side-effect-friendly GHRP.
